ABOUT
Founded in the heart of London’s West End, the Soho Saints Brass Band brings the vibrant culture of New Orleans brass music to the UK.
The band was formed in 2025 by trombonist Connor Martin alongside fellow musicians from music college. Having performed with groups such as the New York Brass Band and Fallen Heroes, Connor drew on his experience to form his own ensemble and carry the tradition forward to a new generation. With an increasing number of commercial brass bands emerging, he set out to create a group that maintains a strong New Orleans influence within the UK jazz scene. The band performs music by influential New Orleans artists alongside their own original material.
Events such as the Soho Jazz Festival and Ziggy Fest have seen the Soho Saints parade through iconic London locations including Piccadilly Circus, Soho Square, and Carnaby Street. The band’s mobile setup allows them to roam freely and perform almost anywhere. A residency at Ziggy Green has helped establish a regular presence on Regent Street, bringing live brass music to hundreds of passers-by.
Connor’s experience performing alongside musicians such as the Hot 8 Brass Band, Kermit Ruffins, and Stephen Walker helps shape the band’s authentic New Orleans sound in the heart of London.
The Soho Saints have released their first two singles: a brass band interpretation of “Let’s Dance” by David Bowie and “Feel Like Funkin’ It Up” by the Rebirth Brass Band, showcasing the fusion of London and New Orleans culture that defines their sound.
